ABOUT ABOUT

Women In Architecture (WIA), a committee of AIA Philadelphia, is proud to present our Annual Scholarship Fundraiser featuring Mónica Ponce de León

Mónica Ponce de León is a professor and dean of the School of Architecture at Princeton University and is the founding principal of MDdL Studio. Ponce de León is both a highly sought‐after educator and nationally acclaimed practitioner that is widely recognized as a leader in the application of robotic technology in building fabrication. As a practicing architect with a deep commitment to architectural education, Mónica promotes fluidity between academia and practice, leveraging technology as a conduit for inquiry and creative practice. As an ardent champion for the next generation of designers, Mónica has shepherded the development of two successful programs that engage under‐represented, high school students in Detroit and Trenton. The rigorous programs encourage students to engage the world of architecture and explore positive design agency.
