You're invited to join the AIA Philadelphia Committee on the Environment to learn more about the 2030 Commitment, to share knowledge, and to improve practice. Architecture 2030, the 2030 challenge, and the AIA 2030 Commitment, calls for Architects to design net zero buildings by 2030. In urban environments such as Philadelphia, we must not only design and renovate new and existing buildings to this standard, but also electrify them. This event will be hosted by AIA Philly COTE's Policy & Advocacy subcommittee joined by Ed Mazria, FAIA, founder of Architecture 2030, and State Senator Carolyn Comitta, the minority chair of the Environmental Resources & Energy Committee.

Learning Objectives for this event include:
1. Define the unique skills and knowledge architects can utilize to advocate for zero-emission building policies.
2. Understand actionable steps we can take to promote new and existing zero-emission buildings, and how to empower leaders within our profession that get involved in policy that reduces emissions in the built environment.
3. Understand the ambitious goals for a zero emission built environment.
4. Comprehend policies that the State of Pennsylvania is undertaking to reduce emissions from electrical grid generation, encourage renewable energy and allow electrified buildings to truly call themselves emission free.
