ABOUT ABOUT

Looking at Fragments

Even as architects strive to create whole experiences, they're forced to inspect their subjects as elemental parts. For KieranTimberlake, looking at fragments has evolved into an expansive practice of drawing, dissecting, testing, questioning and building. In this studio talk, firm members will discuss how prototyping provides essential feedback for design. A panel discussion will offer insight into the firm’s transdisciplinary practice, which brings together people with diverse backgrounds including architecture, ecology, chemistry, physics, anthropology, sculpture, and materials engineering. The event coincides with Drawn + Quartered, an exhibit of scale models and mock-up experiments that survey the role of research and prototyping in the firm’s design process.
