ABOUT ABOUT

The LBC asks us to take a different approach to water -

One that treats stormwater found on site as an asset rather than as a problem. Designing buildings and landscapes that emulate natural closed loop systems, instead of just water in water out. And through advocacy, educating others on the benefits of water conservation.

A core principle of the Living Building Challenge is that water is a precious resource. In a typical developed community today, water is treated as a free commodity; its source, distribution and removal are equally unknown. It is not unusual in developed parts of the world for water to travel several hundreds of miles from source, to use, to treatment.

Please join us -

At the Philadelphia Center for Architecture for a conversation about water hosted by the AIA Committee on the Environment and the Philly Living Building Challenge Collaborative. We'll talk about the LBCWater Petal, hear from water experts, and dive into a few projects to see how they measure up against the performance based criteria of the Net Postive Water Imperative. We hope you can attend!
