The Building Enclosure Council – Philadelphia is pleased to invite you to our next lunchtime presentation, “Façade Energy Performance and Thermal Bridges” where you will learn more about the impact of thermal bridging in your design and also earn 1 AIA HSW CES.
Thermal bridges and detailing of such conditions in the building envelope pose a major effect on the overall effective thermal performance. It is important to know what to look for and possible ways to solve these conditions. Evolving energy codes are leaning towards stricter effective U/R-values for the envelope and addressing thermal bridges are key to achieve compliance.

Speaker: Melissa Wong, LEED AP, BECxP, CxA+BE
Speaker BIO: Melissa is a Vice President at Thornton Tomasetti’s Façade Engineering practice. Her work focuses on the design and construction of façade and enclosure systems for different types of projects, including mixed-use commercial, residential and industrial facilities. Ms. Wong has more than thirteen years of experience providing design consultation, detail development, specifications, shop drawing review and on-site façade inspections for a variety of envelope systems including glazed curtain walls, point supported glazing, rainscreen cladding, precast, brick masonry, prefabricated panels, roofing and waterproofing for both new and existing buildings. Her knowledge and skills allow her to successfully coordinate and manage projects from design to construction. Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute in New York City. She is fluent in Cantonese.
