ABOUT ABOUT

This month, WIA is co-hosting our Coffee and Connect with the great folks from the Philly Dynamo User Group (PDUG). As always, please brew up a strong cup of coffee and meet us online. This month, we will hear from Kaleigh Houde, Global Computational Community Leader for Buro Happold.

Kayleigh Houde is a mechanical engineer working at the intersection of computation, design and engineering. Her portfolio includes system design for high-rise residential and higher education facilities. Houde’s strong interest in computational design led to her current role and has taken her to Dubai, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Edinburgh, London, Warsaw and Berlin- with the goal of supercharging her colleague’s workflows with the power of computation via both visual programming and coding. Her industry contributions include speaking engagements like Engineering News Record Future Tech, AEC Tech and Autodesk University, being a recipient of the AIA 2020 Innovation Award for her team’s open-source Life Cycle Assessment Toolkit, and co-chairing the steering committee for Carbon Leadership Forum’s MEP2040 Challenge.

Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their daughter Lily and their dog Louise in their 100-year-old home.
