ABOUT ABOUT

Beth McConnell of the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations (PACDC) will present the campaign Affordable Homes for a Growing Philly.  They are aiming to pass legislation through City Council that will create a Mixed Income Housing program, which requires that certain developments set aside a percentage of their units for income restricted tenants or buyers, or pay a fee-in-lieu to the Philadelphia Housing Trust Fund.  More than 500 such policies exist across the country, and Bill No. 170678 to create a Mixed Income Housing program was introduced into Philadelphia City Council in June 2017 by Councilwoman Quinones-Sanchez, Council President Darrell Clarke, and Councilmembers Blackwell and Johnson.

Brian Emmons will also be on hand from the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia (BIA) to lay out the BIA's position on this proposed legislation.

A question and answer period will round out the discussion.
