2030 Working Group Session: “Translating architectural models to energy models: Finding Functional Interoperability”

By AIA Philadelphia (other events)

Monday, November 8 2021 5:30 PM 7:00 PM EDT

ABOUT ABOUT

You’re invited to join the AIA Philadelphia Committee on the Environment to learn more about the 2030 Commitment, to share knowledge, and to improve practice. Architects have an important role to play in addressing the climate crisis. In Philadelphia, buildings alone contribute to more than 70% of the city’s greenhouse gas emissions. In Part 2 of the 2030 Working Group, we will focus on design strategies to reduce emissions, paving the road to net zero in 2030.

The learning objectives for this session are:
Participants will learn current interoperability workflows between building information modeling (BIM) and building energy modeling (BEM).
Participants will be able to identify common issues with translating BIM to BEM.
Participants will be able to evaluate emerging tools that solve interoperability issues.
Participants will learn best practices for ensuring more accurate BIM to BEM translation.
