By AIA Philadelphia (other events)

Monday, August 9 2021 5:30 PM 7:00 PM EDT

ABOUT ABOUT

You’re invited to join the AIA Philadelphia Committee on the Environment to learn more about the 2030 Commitment, to share knowledge, and to improve practice. Architects have an important role to play in addressing the climate crisis. In Philadelphia, buildings alone contribute to more than 70% of the city’s greenhouse gas emissions. In Part 3 of the 2030 Working Group, we will focus
on leveraging environmental design analysis to simulate building performance and improve building design, paving the road to net zero in 2030.

Learning Objectives for this session include:
1. Define embodied carbon and its role in decarbonizing the building industry.
2. Identify the most important contributors to embodied carbon.
3. Identify tools for tracking embodied carbon.
4. Understand appropriate levels of analysis for different stages of design.
