2030 WG Session: "Energy Modeling: Abstracting a Complex Reality"

By AIA Philadelphia (other events)

Monday, March 8 2021 5:30 PM 7:00 PM EDT

ABOUT ABOUT

You’re invited to join the AIA Philadelphia Committee on the Environment to learn more about the 2030 Commitment, to share knowledge, and to improve practice. Architects have an important role to play in addressing the climate crisis. In Philadelphia, buildings alone contribute to more than 70% of the city’s greenhouse gas emissions. In Part 3 of the 2030 Working Group, we will focus on leveraging environmental design analysis to simulate building performance and improve building design, paving the road to net zero in 2030.

Learning Objectives for this session include:
1.Differentiate between whole building and single aspect energy models.
2.Identify appropriate tools for whole building and single aspect energy models.
3.Develop targeted simulation questions to generate more meaningful studies.
4.Evaluate the results of a simulation question.
