ABOUT ABOUT

'Affordable Housing in Philadelphia: New Thinking. New Approaches'

Housing Affordability has become a hot button topic in Philadelphia. Long considered a place with reasonable rents and relatively inexpensive housing, lower and middle-income residents are getting squeezed more and more by burgeoning redevelopment in nearly every corner of the City. This forum will look at ways in which this issue is being addressed. A panel of presenters will discuss ways to encourage and support more good quality naturally occurring affordable housing, ways that mixed-income developments can succeed and thrive, and how workforce housing is being developed that is both green and affordable. As moderated by Gregory Heller, the Executive Director of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, "Affordable Housing in Philadelphia" will provide an interesting mix of viewpoints and approaches for dealing with the very real issue of working towards making Philadelphia an equitable place for all.

Moderator: Gregory Heller, Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority
