ABOUT ABOUT

Save the Date!

We stand for architecture that makes our neighborhoods more equitable

Architects are uniquely positioned to guide policymakers to make informed decisions about reinvesting in Philadelphia’s neighborhood infrastructure—our housing stock, significant historic buildings, and public spaces and facilities. Civic buildings and spaces like schools, hospitals, libraries, police and fire stations, parks, and municipal facilities are the bedrock of our communities because they provide essential services for all to enjoy and participate in public life equally. Ensuring access to affordable housing options and well-designed public spaces can stabilize neighborhoods and improve overall public health levels.

For too long, local and national policymakers allowed our neighborhood infrastructure to deteriorate, reducing safety and diminishing the quality of life for too many. That is why we advocate for policies that invest in community assets including affordable housing and the public realm while supporting initiatives focused on improving public health and including inclusive community voices in strategic conversations.

Join the AIA Philadelphia Housing Committee, Urban Design Committee, Active Design Committee, and the Community Design Collaborative for an interactive discussion about how you can help AIA Philadelphia influence change in our communities.
