ABOUT ABOUT

NOTE: this event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19th and does not occur on the usual Tuesday
Abstract: They’re not exciting, but codes and standards provide a minimum basis for evaluating and improving the quality of the building envelope. This discussion covers the 2015 & 2018 IECC, ASHRAE 90.1 2013, and many of the standards that contribute to the codes—all with a focus on NJ and PA. We’ll cover how high-performance envelopes exceed code and some detailing techniques for making your buildings perform better.
Learning Objectives:
1. Explain code terminology
2. Discuss the importance of an air barrier system as part of the code
3. Discuss the various building code requirements as they relate to energy use
4. Explain the standards and test methods that are referenced within these codes
