Join the Philadelphia Emerging Architects (PEA) and Young Friends of the Preservation Alliance (YFPA) for a tour of a Philadelphia icon! The building’s conservator will tell the story revealed by its current shell condition - originally constructed in 1831, reopened in 1955 as the Chinatown YMCA, converted to Mandarin Style in 1971, and last operating as the Chinese Cultural and Community Center - and provide insights into what’s next! The building has been listed on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places as an exemplar of the social and historical heritage of the community.
