The State of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia are set to adopt new building codes on October 1st, 2018. Please plan on joining the AIA Philadelphia Housing Committee for a Monthly Meeting Presentation on how the new code 2018 building code will affect residential design and construction.
This presentation will review the upcoming building code changes and the impacts that they will have on residential occupancies. The focus will be on the International Building Code, with discussion on the International Residential Code limited to the code adoption process.
Topics to be covered include podium structures, occupied roof, and the number of allowable stories.
Jack Fairchild and Kit Bryant will be joining us from the Philadelphia office of Jensen Hughes. Jensen Hughes is a fire protection and life safety engineering and consulting firm with offices throughout the world.
A question and answer period will round out the discussion.
This event is free, however registration is required.
